Museum & Holiday Centre Aholansaari


Historic destination on the Aholansaari island, right next to Tahko. Accommodations, restaurant, event venues, Paavon Pirtti home museum dedicated to a farmer and revivalist leader in the 1800s, an early 20th-century summer rectory of vicar Kleofas Hyvämäki, an 800-seat grey-wood outdoor church, a souvenir shop, and much more to see. During the summer, the island hosts a variety of events such as confirmation camps, weddings, family reunions, camp schools, courses, excursions, and other gatherings.

All services on the island are open during the summer and autumn seasons, with access by boat from the Sääskiniemi pier. Both groups and individual travelers are welcome. In winter, the island’s winter café, located along the ice ski trail, opens for skiers and other adventureres during holiday weeks 8-10.
