Rautavaara is a small municipality located in the northeast part of Northern Savonia, about 100km from Kuopio and 60km from Tahko.

Rautavaara offers a wide range of different things to do and see for everyone, through the year. Rautavaara is especially known for its magnificent Tiilikkajärvi National Park, Kiperi Conservation Area, excellent snowmobile trails, clean fishing waters and forests suitable for hunting.
